Takaata Kingdom
Takaata Kingdom
A land where magic is forbidden and all artifacts associated with it are destroyed, Takaata may appear dangerous and too radical for many. But you can’t blame people who were oppressed by magic and hope for them to follow in the magic ways.
Takaata is mostly friendly to outsiders, so long as they leave all of their magic out of the kingdom. For any magic user who crosses through here, the land becomes vaguely dangerous, if not cursed. Even the very air here makes the magic users suffer headaches and concentration issues, as if the place was truly cursed to get rid of all magic.
Takaata is ruled by a king and queen, who consult with their Highest Advisor and a Militia Leader about their every decision. Takaata does not have a council and people place their trust almost exclusively within the king and queen. Takaatians are very wary of visitors and often suspicious of anyone who displays even the slightest whiff of magic or seems to be in possession of something that is magical. Any use of magic is severely punished in Takaata. There is no mercy.
Takaata is also weary of trade, and works almost exclusively only with Jushvyn, which used to be part of Takaata. The country has a strong military presence in both land and sea, hailing about sixty thousand soldiers in militia, stationed at various towns and posts throughout the kingdom.

Diamond City
Diamond City gets its name from the region, rich in gemstones. While the mining guild does not work here, Takaatians themselves mine these gems and decorate houses and weapons in them, as well as clothing and common household items. To visitors, the city glistens from afar as if it was a giant gemstone.
Most buildings in Diamond City are dome shaped and hide round rooms filled with people. Even the markets and common areas are round, as if Takaatians had something against squares. The truth is, it mostly hails from their belief that all Takaatians must be “round” as in taught everything but magic, and that magic is not required in the world to remain round.
About sixty thousand people live in Diamond City, including the current king and queen, but the royals have other residences around the kingdom. Most of the population is human, non-magical, but there are some half-elves who have abandoned any connection to magic.

Milliwauk Endless Forest
Named after one of the original generals of Takaata, Milliwauk the War Maker, the Endless forest is filled with wondrous trees and grass, greener than anywhere else. Here flowers grow undisrupted and animal life is plenty.
While the forest has smaller settlements, most towns in it don’t reach about two thousand settlers. Most people who live in the forests make way by growing trees, providing lumber to the country or hunting. The best hunters have formed the Hunting Head - an association aimed at documenting animals in the forest and making sure that the population is controlled and those animals who are endangered are protected. While hunting is not exactly restricted, the hunters aim to do their best to protect the animals who are rare and exotic from going extinct, especially if those animals are not magical.
Most people who live here are human and half-elf, but there are some kobold, lizardfolk and satyrs.
Re: Takaata Kingdom
Giver’s Lake
Giver’s Lake and rivers coming out of it provide freshwater for Takaata and all of its people. There are plenty of fishing towns, scattered around the shores and rivers, as well as guard posts, making sure that no magic user crosses the lake into Takaata.
The biggest towns are Kala, Zen, Pjon, Avaris and Wend. These towns collectively house about fifteen thousand people and are scattered across the land. Most are human, just like in the rest of the empire, but some are tortle, lizardfolk, kobold and even some minotaurs.
Re: Takaata Kingdom
Nasaj Helsv Forest
A less populated area in Takaata is the Nasaj Helsv forest, neighboring the dangerous mountain empire of The Fallenwehem. You may find some guard posts and very small settlements here, but generally, most people will avoid this area.
While it does, technically, belong to the kingdom, the folks who live here would much rather be further away from Fallenwehem than closer. The only reason some settle here is because this area is rich in soil and can grow flowers and crops that can’t be found in most areas around the world. There are also large beasts roaming in Nasaj Helsv so for those who see trophy hunting, this is a good area to start.
Re: Takaata Kingdom
Oberidom Range
While most of Oberidom Range does not belong to Takaata, the mountains that do are well used. Takaata has been great about keeping the Mining Guild out of their mountains and out of their land, and the mountains they share with the Royal Federation of Xharas are no different. Here mining is severely restricted, because mountains are filled with dangerous, uncivilized folk and monsters of all kinds - as well as magic.
These hills are ancient, and only the kingdom’s militia really makes this place their home. About five thousand soldiers are scattered throughout various posts in the mountains, maintaining some semblance of protection and peace.
Re: Takaata Kingdom
The Hunting Head
Perhaps the most famous association within Takaata is the Hunting Head, an organization dedicated to hunting and preserving animals, and supplying animal-made goods to the country. The Hunting Head is very exclusive and aims to always educate their members and elevate their status within the society.
The Hunting Head is primarily nestled in Milliwauk Endless forest, but also dwells in Nasaj Helsv and Oberidom Range. Some of its members even travel to further regions to hunt and preserve animals for other countries.
